Overwhelming Cuteness
I just have to share some recent kid cuteness. Yesterday Isaac found some silly putty. For the rest of the day he called it, "silly pilly" with a very serious face. Of course now he says it to be funny because I laugh every time he says, "silly pilly."
The boys are into giving "zerberts." Your family may call it blowing raspberries, but you know what I mean. They love to give Julia a bedtime zerbert- I know, they are wonderful brothers. Tonight Isaac had a bare back and Julia ran over and gave him a zerbert. She had perfect form and sound effects, it was hilarious.
This afternoon Caleb and Isaac were playing together. Caleb was getting frustrated and asked Isaac, "Why are you copying me? Stop it!" Isaac replied, "Because you are my best friend." Holy moly I just about started crying. I'm getting teary just writing about it.
And tomorrow I'll probably write about how the kids are little terrors! Gotta love 'em.

And now we are done

Funny story to start with. Caleb had to bring a birthday snack today. We decided to make bumblebee cupcakes. I didn't have time to make my own frosting so I decided to buy a generic can of frosting. That was a big mistake! After I decorated the cupcakes, all of the frosting slid off! So at 10 pm last night I was performing surgery on the cupcakes to salvage them. I put them in the freezer overnight in hopes that they would stay intact til snack time at school.:) I then had another baking failure. I made a cake from a mix and it didn't rise. It looks like an unleavened cake or something. How did I mess up a boxed cake mix?! I didn't have time to make and decorate a new cake, so I ordered one. I feel a little guilty about not making one, but oh well. At least I'm learning to not stress myself out unnecessarily.
Cardale left our house this evening. I thought I would feel more emotions, but I feel kind of matter of fact right now. I know I'll experience more emotions over the next couple of weeks. I still wish I could have explained to Cardale what was happening. We are so happy for him though. I pray this transition goes smoothly for him. We will visit him in a month. So just like that, our time with Cardale is done.

Too cute

This morning I was feeling down about my current role in life. I was struggling with how my life seems so repetitive and unfulfilling at times. Of course, God has a way of breaking thru my pity party. See the previous pictures for the reminders I received. Isaac and Cardale will play off each other- which can be good or bad. Today at lunch they were laughing at each other and putting the washcloths on their heads. As soon as they saw Caleb and I laughing they were quite proud of themselves.
Then tonight Caleb was in one of his non-stop talkative moods. He informed me that if I got stuck on a rhino's back he would jump on the rhino and rescue me because he was brave of rhinos. I'll keep that in mind the next time I get stuck on a rhino. Caleb is also convinced that we are going to get a baby girl and he is telling everyone. We've been talking about the adoption and we keep telling him that we don't know who God will give us, it could be a boy or girl. Caleb will hear none of it. He keeps saying he needs a baby sister and doesn't want another brother. We'll see what happens with all of that.:)

Poop Happens
Lovely title isn't it? It pretty much sums up what happened this morning. Isaac and Cardale both woke up crying this morning. So, I carried Isaac downstairs to get his milk and Cardale's bottle. I noticed Isaac had peed thru his pj's, so I went to change his diaper. Of course, no diapers downstairs. I took his diaper off him and thought he'd be ok while I made Cardale's bottle. BIG MISTAKE. I went back in the room and Isaac was staring at a pile of poop on the carpet. I was a little upset, but not a big deal-just cleaned it up. Cardale was still crying upstairs so I left Isaac and went to get Cardale and some diapers. I come back down and Isaac is crying. Sure enough Isaac is sitting on the floor with MORE poop on the carpet and now it's on his feet, hands and face. Horribly disgusting!! Seriously, in the 3 minutes I left you alone you had to poop again?! So I'm cleaning him up while he's crying and Cardale is crying as well b/c he just wants his bottle and then Caleb starts yelling, "Mommy, can you open the gate, I have to go potty!" Fabulous. Can I go back to bed now?
Thankfully God is merciful and we made it thru the rest of the morning without any more poop or Mommy meltdowns.:) When I told Nate the story, his response was something along the lines of "poop happens?" A fitting title indeed. :)

Steph's Visit

Caleb had some funny comments this week. Steph mentioned the movie "Sex and the City." Caleb overheard her and said, "I love sex!" Steph and I were good and didn't overreact. I just changed the subject. We laughed so hard after he left the room though!
The other comment happened when I was nursing Isaac. Caleb walked up to me and asked, "Is he chewing on your chest? Why is he chewing on your chest?" I couldn't help but laugh. How did we go 10 months of breastfeeding without this coming up?! I just explained that God made mommies special and they can feed babies milk from their chest. He was happy with that and went off to play. These questions definitely catch you off-guard!
