So, am I the only one who is sick of all the "Live Green" campaign going on?! Every show on NBC this week has some kind of live green theme. It seems like global warming is being talked about ALL the time. Obviously God called us to be good stewards of the earth and we need to take care of the environment. So it is good that the media is drawing some attention to the issue. But at the complete expense of any other issue?! What about focusing on issues that affect human beings such as; orphans, kids in foster care, poverty, etc.? Sometimes it feels like the media is more concerned with the decline of polar bears than declines in human life.
I will get off my soapbox now. Does anyone else feel similarly or am I being overly sensitive?:)

Yeah, no kidding! Some points that irk me -- Al Gore winning the Nobel Peace Prize -- seriously?! I am pretty sure there are some people out there doing a lot more with a lot less resources and minus the aid of a former vice presidency and media power. Sheesh. I came across this article a while ago: http://www.firstthings.com/article.php3?id_article=6000&var_recherche=global+warming
Thanks for the article Deb. We found it very interesting. It's good to know we aren't the only ones questioning the media coverage.:)
Giggle! I love tirades! I completely agree!
I totally agree too, Stacy! I was thinking the same thing a little bit ago as I saw YET ANOTHER one of those commercials. If you're interested in getting presidential candidates to address the issues you listed and then some, take a look at ONE.org and their On The Record campaign, requesting that the candidates let us know where they stand on global poverty, on HIV/AIDS, etc...
I agree...I care about the earth and try to do my best but I think other issues are more pressing. And who are we to say the climate of yesterday was ideal...who knows.
